Do you know that every emotion we have affects us?

In this blog we will discuss this topic.

What is an emotion?

Emotion is how we feel about what is going on in our lives. our work, our relationships, ourselves, and our general situation.

Everything in this universe is energy. Emotions are energy movements. When we find ways to block the energy from moving through our body, we end up storing emotions in our cells. Eventually, unprocessed emotions start showing up as physical symptoms or ailments.

It's important to recognize our thoughts and emotions and be aware of the effect they have—not only on each other, but also on our bodies, behavior, and relationships.

How you perceive the situation is how it’s going to affect you.

Positive and Negative emotions

Emotions can either be positive or negative.

Positive emotions

Positive emotions can be described as any feeling that makes us feel good/happy.

People who have plenty of positive thoughts and emotions in their everyday lives tend to be happier, healthier, and get along better with others.

They are more creative, helps others.

Happy, Joy, Love, Gratitude, Hope are a few examples of positive emotions.

Negative emotions

Negative emotions can be described as any feeling which causes you to be miserable and sad. These emotions make you dislike yourself and others, and reduce your confidence and self-esteem, and general life satisfaction.

As adults we are suppressing our emotions, especially negative emotions like sadness, fear, shame. This pain gets stored in our body, and it can surface later in life.

Hate, Anger, Fear, Worry, Jealousy, Frustration are a few examples of negative emotions.

Where do these emotions get saved?

It depends on the kind of emotion that you have.

For example, women who are facing menstrual pain, PCOD, fibroids, etc. are caused by their rejection of femininity.

How to process negative emotions?

It’s very important that we come out of any unprocessed/suppressed emotions.

There are many ways of releasing negative emotions.

1. Challenging the emotion.

By thinking whether it’s true or just your opinion. What do you really advise when your friend shares this emotion with you? By doing this, you can expose its flaws and weaken its power over you.

2. Practicing Meditation.

Meditation helps you to change your attitude towards life. It enhances our awareness. You let yourself feel that emotion. You sit with that emotion, fully embracing it. Not suppressing it at all. You think, feel, and eventually, let go.

3. Practicing Gratitude.

Gratitude is an antidote to negative emotions. Being grateful for everything that we have now makes us feel happy and instantly shifts the mood.

4. Acceptance.

Acknowledge the emotion and think about the permanency of the emotion. “This will pass too” is the affirmation that everyone must remember.

5. Forgiveness.

By practicing forgiveness, we can heal emotional wounds. Forgiving is one of the secrets to being happy. We can be more connected to other people in general.

Self-forgiveness is an excellent way to overcome guilt and pain and it cultivates a sense of hopefulness.
